I recently started working for Smile Direct Club as a Smile Guide and was given their lip balm during training. Wow! I’m not much of a lip balm user because many of them still leave my lips feeling dry (yeah, looking at you EOS) but this one is a game changer. I understand why it has a cult following within and outside the company.

I haven’t had great experiences with VT as a brand and even worse with most of the BTS collection. Granted, most Idol collections aren’t that great in quality anyway. I’m not a huge fan of BTS but what drew me to this collection was this particular shade and the promise of a long lasting tint. I was happily surprised! It’s a beautiful moody red and it definitely lasts even after eating.

tumblr_inline_p80zbprgkZ1rhwzwl_75sq PRETTY HAIR BARRETTES

I’m so excited that these are on trend these days because I absolutely love wearing hair clips! Anything girly is usually right up my alley. I have some basic ones but these are some of my more elaborate pieces.

tumblr_inline_p80zbprgkZ1rhwzwl_75sq BIORE UV AQUA RICH WATERY ESSENCE

I’ve never been one to wear daily sunscreen because I absolutely hate the consistency and smell of it. I’m not really sensitive to smell but sunscreen really messes me up. When I started Curology I decided to find one I could tolerate since it was recommended. I absolutely freaking love this sunscreen. The consistency is so nice and hydrating without being slick and overbearing, it absorbs into the skin really nicely and has no whitecast. It also has absolutely NO sunscreen scent which is wiiiiiilllldddd.

tumblr_inline_p80zbprgkZ1rhwzwl_75sq BECCA LIPTUITIVE GLOW LIP GLOSS

Oof! This lip gloss. Where do I start? It is not sticky, only moisturizing. It gives you a natural pink that suits your skintone. You can also pat the gloss away and the color still stays, like a tint. Plus the packaging is so pretty! Gives me mermaid vibes. I like to apply it by itself or on top of other tints.

tumblr_inline_p80zbprgkZ1rhwzwl_75sq MAC WATERWEIGHT FOUNDATION (NC15)

This has a moisturizing and breathable formula that is oily-skin friendly. It does not oxidize which is really important to me. It stays looking beautiful even at the end of my work day. It is buildable, sheer to medium! Great for a natural look! I know many people these days don’t use MAC due to personal (and valid) reasons but if the bunny seal of approval isn’t a make it or break it for you this one is worth a try!

tumblr_inline_p80zbprgkZ1rhwzwl_75sq JO MALONE WOOD SAGE & SEA SALT COLOGNE

Yeah, This will probably be on my favorites for a long time to come. It is my signature fragrance at the moment. Unisex and very clean, easily the fragrance I’ve had the most compliments wearing. Definitely pricey though and I use it up pretty quickly because it isn’t long lasting. So you can probably guess how much I love it being I still keep repurchasing even with those pretty important flaws.

tumblr_inline_p80zbprgkZ1rhwzwl_75sq PRETTY VULGAR FAUX REALS EXTREME VOLUME MASCARA

I still hold that BLINC is the worst mascara to be made on this earth but Pretty Vulgar comes in close second. First, the packaging looks extremely cheap and tacky which is already a terrible first impression. The formula itself is really wet and takes a long time to dry down. The volume is easily comparable to most drugstore brands, so at a Prestige price this is a definite no go. The only good thing about it is the brush design. This one was sent to me gratis, I would never spend my hard earned money on this mascara.

you can buy it here if you’re a masochist!

Finally! Barrettes are back in! I used to wear some in my teens which my Mum used to wear in her twenties and gave to me. They were really pretty, but out of fashion during the time. Need to buy some new ones 😊

Thanks! I think I got it from Amazon at a way inflated price but so worth it haha. Short hair with hair pins is so adorable! Well any hair really but definitely when it’s short ❤

That Biore sunscreen is one of the best sunscreen if not the best sunscreen I’ve ever tried! I recently repurchased it in Asia.

Those hair accessories are so, so pretty. Unfortunately, they really wouldn’t suit me but I do love how dreamy they are.

That Becca lipgloss has taken my fancy so I’m going to check it out since it looks really pretty!

I wish it would have crossed my path earlier! Well better late than never, It’s definitely going to be a constant repurchase!

I feel you on that, I have to be dressed a certain way and my hair has to be a certain way to make the barrettes work.

Let me know how you like the gloss when you try it!

Know what you mean! I bought 3 sunscreens last year that I didn’t like whatsoever. It’s currently somewhere collecting dust because I cannot even bring myself to use it underneath makeup – it’s that bad. Now I am extra careful when buying sunscreen. 😂

I love the format of your favourites & fails. A straightforward list with pictures and thoughts, that’s easy to read through! I’m really interested to start wearing hairpins because it seems like an easy way to accessorise a ponytail or bun (I need to have my hair up at work!) so thanks for the Aliexpress link!

Ooo great product selection! I really like the look of the lip-balm (I’m also a total sucker for cute packaging). I’ll have to see if Smile Direct products are available in the UK at all. I could also do with a new foundation so I’ll have to keep that Mac one in mind as lightweight always gets thumbs up from me (hate foundation that’s too heavy or cakey).
