If you’ve been following for awhile you’ll know that I’m a pretty big foodie and why not! Food is what sustains us and keeps us fueled and moving a long in life. I may not talk about the topic of health a lot on the blog but it goes hand in hand with your relationship with food. Over the past two years I’ve discovered what eating habits work best for my body and a long with my exercise routine I believe I’m in the best health compared to how I was before I took a real look into it.
I’m an avid weight lifter, that’s to say my favorite form of exercise consists of weight training and I go 5-6x week. I am by no means professional and will probably never be at a competition level but you get what I mean right? I’ve definitely been trying to incorporate some cardio into my off days though since it’s great for your heart!
With all that being said, for quite some time I had never gone out of my way to REALLY check my health and how my body was doing. I thought..”well I eat right and I exercise regularly..so yeah that’s enough right?” Unfortunately wrong. So wrong. Luckily at the time I had health insurance and when I went in to my doctor to get a comprehensive health test panel I was shocked! Yeah overall I was in pretty good health but my LDL cholesterol could have been better and I was advised to further reshape my dietary choices. Since then I’ve cut back a lot on red meat and pork and have been feeding my body more fish, white chicken every now and then, vegetables and grains.
It’s so important to get a yearly comprehensive exam but let’s be real insurance is freaking expensive even if you have a job and not everyone can afford these basic assessments. Heck I don’t even have insurance at the moment!
That being said I am so excited to be able to partner with HEALTH LABS to bring you affordable alternatives to keeping up with your health. They offer basic to extensive health panels to fit a variety of budgets. They also offer Vegan testing in case you’ve been thinking of a complete dietary transition, this type of testing is beneficial in deciding whether this diet is a good one for your body since it checks for any animal-derived food allergies that you may have.
On top of the already affordable prices they have you can use my discount code at checkout LATTE25 for an additional 25% off your order!
