THE GLASS KNIFE (ORLANDO,FL)

Since my husband started his finance internship a month ago in Orlando he’s usually the one that drives up to Gainesville every weekend to see me. This time I decided to make the trip since it was my birthday and well I needed a change of scenery. Before I went on my Insta-hiatus I saw this cafe in my feed and it instantly went on my cafe bucket list.. um heck yeah I have one of those! Luckily it was only a few miles down from where we’re staying! Truth be told Florida is not known for aesthetic cafes and for some reason there’s no shortage of grunge-style indie ones in these parts. Whatever floats your boat!

I’ll tell you what floats my boat though! Beautiful pink interiors, food that tastes as good as it looks and service that makes you feel at home. You guys know I deal with massive anxiety since I can remember and it was just not a part of the program the two days I visited. I definitely felt in my element! Oh and did I mention palm fronds, palm fronds everywhere.. if Instagram aesthetic was a cafe this would be it.

Overall, it was a very pleasant experience and I’ll be visiting next time I’m in town! I need to try the lunch and dinner menu and more sweets of course. There’s just so much to choose from and only so much room in this stomach of mine.

Some other things to note are that they have a patio that allows “friendly” dogs, it’s smoke-free and also cash-less! Even though it’s a cafe you have friendly waiters that bring your order to you (also water!) and like a restaurant you pay when you’re done at your table.
