When I first saw the sneak peak for this collaboration I was through the roof! Although I only eat Milky candies every now and then I understand the appeal for the mascot Peko-chan. In case you’re also into Japanese urban legends here’s a link to a story associated with the brand *TRIGGER WARNING* If you’re not into horror urban legends just skip onto the review!
So right off the bat I wanted everything, absolutely everything in the collection for the sole reason of packaging! But upon further inspection and once my common sense had kicked in I realized I would only really make use out of two things; lipstick and masks.
HOLIKA HOLIKA WATER DROP TINT BOMB <4호 cherry coke water>
This may be crazy to say but I think this is literally my favorite lip product.. like ever. It’s all I’ve really been using lately and I plan to get more shades. Not just from the Peko collab but also from their regular water drop tint bomb line.
The application is very easy and blends smoothly. The staying power is really great too even after eating. Plus it looks nice even after re-application.
It has a lovely, fruity smell! This shade is a really wearable red, I say “wearable” because reds can be quite intimidating. I feel confident wearing this shade out and about. I also use it as a blush, but I do that with most of my lipsticks.
So here’s a few pictures of this lip tint in action!
HOLIKA HOLIKA PURE ESSENCE JELLY MASK SHEET
You know me, I love a good face mask! Not to mention brightening masks are my favorite variety, hands down. But this was definitely one of those masks that are just too pretty to use. Or at least It took me a REALLY long time to open it and that’s why this review is coming in so late.
Product Claims A brightening sheet makes skin lustrous and provides moisture to skin with strawberry extract.
Adherence ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
Surprisingly it stayed on pretty well.
Material ⭐ ⭐
I really have a thing against thicker mask material and although it’s not as thick as say the SKII masks it’s borderline almost there. I also have a pet peeve when masks say they are jelly but the material isn’t jelly-like, so upsetting.
It was pretty normal, not too big not too small but as you can see in the picture it definitely scrunched in a lot of places. What can I say having a small face has it’s downsides.
Extra Info I’m not a big fan of character print on masks because it’s downright a little creepy once you lay it on your skin, otherwise the design in itself is really cute. It had a nice, clean smell that I couldn’t quite pinpoint. It was hydrating but I did not notice any instant brightening effect.
Repurchase? Probably not! But it was nice to try simply for the collaboration.
