Current Everyday Makeup ♥ January 2018

Lately I’ve been keeping it pretty simple for the most part, that’s not to say I don’t play around with makeup styles every now and then but this is what I’m usually donning on the daily.

I really like my skin to look glowy instead of matte. I think it makes for a more youthful look instead of a mature one. I think many ladies with “baby face” tend to want to wear a lot of more mature looking makeup to compensate but I say embrace it!

Can you guess my astrology constellation? *hint hint* It’s on my earring!

BANILA CO dear hydration facial mist

Aside from a good skincare routine, the secret to my 촉촉 (chok-chok) skin is this amazing face mist from Banila Co. I first laid eyes on it while my husband and I were browsing the shops in Myeong-Dong, of course the pink packaging lured me in so I ended up buying it regardless of how well it was going to work. To my astonishment it has now become a must have in prepping my skin for makeup. I apply it after my skincare, before my primer. If you live in a dry climate or have a dry season you can also spray it on top of your makeup to refresh the skin or even use it on it’s own.

MAJOLICA MAJORCA skin lingerie pore cover

As a primer I’ve really been loving this one these days! I have noticeable pores on my cheeks so a pore filler type primer is a necessity. It goes on really smooth and works well with my combination skin. Not to mention the packaging is really cute too!

3CE back to baby bb cream

I picked this BB cream up from Olive Young which is a drugstore type store in Korea. Although I’m sure it’s available inside the StyleNanda stores as well. Unfortunately, It only comes in one shade which caters to light-medium skin tones. Usually when a Korean product states it’s “one shade fits all” that’s usually the right shade for me. And that’s because it tends to be on the beige spectrum. It has great coverage and a barely there feel!

THE SAEM cover perfection tip concealer

I think this concealer has been running circles in a good way in the K-Beauty community, and for good reason! It’s a holy grail item that you have to try at some point. I feel like it’s taken the place of the SkinFood salmon concealer (which I completely hated tbh). The coverage is insane without being cakey or dry. In Korea I was able to get it for a little under $4, It’s much less expensive than high end brands with the same result.

DERMABLEND loose setting powder

Even though my skin is combination it definitely leans to the oily side. Due to this I still need to apply powder on certain areas like my T-zone, eyelids and chin. If you have dry skin you probably don’t need to use it as often, if at all.

BENEFIT gimme brow

I’ve been using this brow gel a lot! It’s really simple and get’s the job done! If I’m going out somewhere more special than I’ll use a brow powder but for every day wear this is perfect! I also use a clear brow gel after to set it.

MAJOLICA MAJORCA linemania

On a day to day basis I usually don’t wear any eye shadow but I do use a brown liner for a natural look! It also gives my eyes a bit of depth.

HOLIKA HOLIKA red lies eye metal glitter (jewel blast)

Personally I can’t really achieve the “aegyosal” look because my under-eyes are pretty hollow, since I was a kid. I am going to correct that with fillers or maybe even surgery in the future. I still like to add a little sparkle to my tear ducts though and this is a great product for that!

HEROINE MAKE volume & curl mascara

This mascara gives a really natural look but you have to be careful when applying it. At least I do, my lashes are long so if I don’t take my time it can get on my eye lids or cheeks. The staying power is tough! It takes a good makeup remover to get it off.

ETUDE HOUSE personal color contouring palette (cream texture)

I’ve been slowly straying away from heavy contouring or really any kind of contouring at all. Sometimes I might contour my nose but that’s about it. The most used product in this palette is definitely the high lighter and this picture doesn’t do it any justice, I’m so sorry!! It’s so pearly and bright. I place it on my cheek bones, nose bridge, cupids bow and right below my bottom lip.

AROUND ME enriched lip essence (grape)

I got this cute little thing as part of a freebie trio after buying a peach lip foam mask from LOHB (also a Korean drugstore type place). I use it to moisturize my lips before applying any kind of lipstick or tint.

LIME CRIME geradium lipstick

First and foremost I have to say I do not like the owner of Lime Crime and the company itself has had and probably still has really shady business practices. I do not support this brand AT ALL. If you’re interested in their business history there’s plenty of information online. This lipstick was given to me by a dear friend before I switched cities.

The way I apply my lipsticks and tints is to first apply it on my finger and then dab it onto my lips until I reach my desired opacity. This way it looks more natural and less loud. My lipstick color changes on the daily but this is the one I was wearing today. I also use the lipstick as a blush!

  1. You might hear this a lot, but you really are gorgeous the way you are without having aegyosal! I have them sort of, they’re quite prominent when I smile, but I never thought they were beautiful until I discovered K-beauty. (even though I was into kpop long before that!) So yeah. You’re gorgeous and it’s nice to see what makeup you’re using. I haven’t tried any of these X

    1. Thank you, that means a lot! I can’t stand my hollow eyes though it really makes me look tired without makeup TT I was going to address it on the trip to Korea but I decided to wait till at least my 30s before I start anything like that. If you end up trying any of these at some point, let me know how they work for you! ❤

  2. Such a great post! You are beautiful! I’ve been using a cleansing oil by Banila Co. and it’s the first time I’ve used anything from this brand and it’s working great! I’m so intrigued by the hydrating facial mist now – that will most likely be my next purchase! 😀

    1. Oh! Is it the Clean It Zero balm? It’s so popular! I like it as well! I haven’t been able to find the facial mist online as of yet, but I have seen other products from the hydration line on Amazon. If you find it, let me know! I ended up buying two in Korea in case I couldn’t find it online TT ❤

  3. I am going to Japan in few months and I am so looking forward to getting some Korean beauty products in Tokyo (they got a quite big Korean community as you prob. know). Makeup has been always my pending subject, but I want to learn! I will be taking some notes from your tips so I do know what to buy once I am there 🙂

I really like how your blog looks like btw. Cheers!

      1. Yes! I started the blog last month and I am all hype about it hehe, it’s mostly about my last trips to Europe (and the new ones to come!) and Japan is gonna be the first one overseas for me.

I also try to talk about cute things I like and a bit of my life, but I wouldn’t dare to talk about makeup tho (I’m honestly still trying to figure out what exactly a Primer is, ups!) so perhaps you could recommend me some basic products I shouldn’t miss buying once I am there?

Thanks and come say hi to my blog if you would like to, would make me really happy! 🙂 🙂
